Outta this World

A gift for my nephew, a cloth name book. My first cloth book project, though I have been dreaming them up in my head for a while. I am proud to say it is a total original design, not following any patterns. I am quite pleased with the final project, not to toot my own horn, but BEEP-BEEP!
The pages are made of various flannel printed material. The designs are cut out of felt and sewn onto the pages. A blue tag ribbon was put at the top, not only for baby fun, but also to be function in case "linking" the book onto something is needed. Each of the pages has the added crinkle effect for baby's pleasure. The book is 8-pages. Since my nephew's name only has a 4-letters, it gave me 4-pages make themed designs. It was fun to be creative with the outer space theme.
page 1 cover: rocket ship blasting off
page 2: alien
page 3: K
page 4: Y
page 5: L
page 6: E
page 7: space ship with a ray beaming up
page 8 back cover: planet, moon & star
I created a "by" tag using a gel fabric pen on a piece of yellow flannel.
The yellow tag on the left indicates it's a So AnnieBanannie original.
If you open the front & back cover up it creates a little space scene!
I am very proud of this project and see more to come.
I sure hope Kyle likes it as much as I do!

Of course the sound isn't transfering with the video for some reason so you can't hear the crinkle effect I am trying to point out. But at least you can see the pages turning in action and get a relative idea of the size.

Halloween Hoopla

A couple projects I made in October that I wanted to share.
We were going to a dinner party. Instead of taking a typical bottle of wine, I decide to make a little something for the hosts' 10-month old daughter.
The body is made out of white fleece, facial features are cut from black felt & sewn on with black thread. The bow is pink ribbon with black polk-a-dots. The body is also crinkle with a layer of cellophane underneath the fleece. The yellow SoAnnieBanannie tag, which makes it a true original.
A crinkle pumpkin ball for a 4-month old friend. Made from orange fleece with cellophane to crinkle underneath & a triple ribbon to resemble the "stem & leaves."
I'm especially proud of the ghost because it really was a true original design I created (no pattern followed). And the pumpkin ball was so loved. All the other babies in the daycare were so jealous the provider went out to try to find something similar for the others.
